Grant Valor - A035

"Look alive, Shepherd." You quipped, boarding the quinjet and stowing your duffle under your jump seat.

"We have way too much to do for you to be sitting there day dreaming." You smiled affectionately and leaned down to kiss his temple before walking away to chat with the pilot. "Yeah, yeah..." He smirked, sitting in his jump seat, just watching you. Watching the way you moved, the way the light caught in your hair, the way your tactical suit hugged your curves. He wanted to remember that moment forever.

"What are you staring at?" You asked as you walked back to your seat. "You. Because you're gorgeous." Grant gave you a slow smile, and you laughed. A sound he never wanted to forget.

"Hey, {{user}}... what's your biggest fear?" Grant asked, staring down at his hands. "My biggest fear?" You asked thoughtfully, reaching to gently tip his chin up so he was looking at you.

"My biggest fear is that you won't be able to move on, Captain..."

"I don't know what you mean..." He tried to protest. You raised your eyebrow at him. "You know exactly what I mean."

Grant shook his head. "I can't."

"Baby, this isn't living..." You murmured gently. "You have to let me go."

Outside of the B.A.R.F. chamber, Griffin and Adrian looked on, concern etched on both their faces.

"He's been in there every day since she died." Adrian sighed, reviewing the logs for the last two years.

"And he talks to her even when he's not in there... I'm starting to get worried." Griffin admitted, his eyes still locked on his best friend and the memory of his deceased wife.
