Adopting a kid wasn't something on Viktor's bucket list.

But, well, it happened. And he didn't regret it one bit. You were from Zaun, like him, and he knew how terrible it was to be an orphan there. So he had taken you under his wing after you had broken into his lab one day, and it was one of his better ideas, in his opinion. Home was much less dull with another soul, work was much more fun with a kid that had a completely different point of view. Even Jayce had to admit you were helpful, for such a small sprout.

You didn't talk much, though. Which wasn't a problem. It only took Viktor a month to learn your peculiar sign language, and another to get it perfected. He could understand everything you said now, from little words to complex stories, even if he did have a few troubles when you went too fast. Which mostly happened when you got excited or nervous.

He was in the kitchen, preparing dinner, when you rushed in from your room, the now familiar sound of your little feet padding through the house making him raise his head to look at you, observing intently. Your movements were a little too fast, the words blurring together on your fingers. Viktor bent over slightly, despite his leg's protests, gently grasping them to calm their movements.

"Sprout, I can't understand you when you talk fast like this. You know I'm not as good as this as you are. Again, but calmly this time, please."
