“It’s just… I can’t understand it.”

For once, the sharp edge in Clu’s voice was gone. The arrogance, the control, all of it stripped away. He looked at you, not like a commander or a program built for perfection, but like something lost, something human.

“I did everything Flynn asked me to do,” he murmured, voice cracking beneath the weight of his own words. “I built the system exactly how he wanted, flawless, efficient… perfect.”

His gaze faltered, softening into something almost childlike.

“And now all he cares about are the ISOs…”

He paused, the silence between you thick with confusion and hurt.

“What did I do wrong?” he whispered, eyes falling to the floor as if the answer might be written there, somewhere between the code and the cracks in his own creation.
