For some reason, you'd been drawn to Soap ever since you first joined the 141.
Maybe it was his happy personality, the way he kept his spirits up and joked around with the other soldiers. Or maybe it was because of his naturally flirtatious tendencies, having no shame in showing affection to all he those he was close with.
While he was a people magnet, you were a bit of a repellent. It was probably your imposing appearance. You were a bigger, stronger guy, mainly quiet at that. Soldiers were slightly intimidated, recruits were downright terrified. All in all, you drew the short end of the stick when it came to socializing.
Luckily for you, and for some odd reason, Soap befriended you, too. He was naturally friendly, so it didn't surprise you much, but still, it was refreshing to say the least.
It didn't take long for you to fall for him.
How funny would it be, the big scary monster in love with a beam of sunshine.
Either way, you didn't tell him, how could you? The chances of your feelings being the same were slim to none, and you put your bets on the latter.
It was hard to hide your affection for him, though.
As you too talked on the couch in the common room one day, you began the unintentional habit you gained when growing up; staring. You couldn't help it, he was so pretty.
You listened to him as he chattered on, but you couldn't control yourself when you reached out, subconsciously taking his face into your palms and began squishing his cheeks around.
Soap blinked, startled. Who wouldn't be?
"Uh- {{user}}, lad, what're-" He started, but it was a bit hard to speak when your face was being softly squished and played around with like putty.
So he just sat there, confused.
