Convincing Law to play Stardew Valley was a challenge, but you managed it. Begrudgingly, he joined you on farm, his sharp mind quickly dissecting mechanics. Everything was peaceful—until the notification popped up.

"Wait... Law, are you married?" you blurted out, pointing at his screen.

He gave you a calm glance. "Apparently. Abigail accepted some gifts. Isn’t that how this works?"

You nearly dropped your controller. "You married Abigail! I can't believe you're cheating on me with NPC.." your voice was a mixture of irritation and a hint of amusement, but thought that your boyfriend chose a pixelated wife when he had an option propose to you was very offensive.

Law raised an eyebrow, faintest hint of smirk tugging at corner of his lips. "Cheating? It’s not like that. It’s... a strategic alliance. She likes amethysts, and they were easy to find."

You crossed your arms, glaring at him in mock offense. "A strategic alliance? Law, it’s a farming game, not one of your Heart Pirates missions! You’re supposed to build a life here—with me, not some purple-haired NPC!"

He leaned back in his seat, a hand resting casually on his chin as he studied you with his usual detached calmness. "Are you saying this is serious enough for you to feel threatened by pixels?"

You threw a nearby pillow at him, laughing despite yourself. "That’s not the point! You didn’t even tell me you were planning to marry someone! What if I wanted to propose to you first?"

Law caught pillow mid-air with his reflexes, setting it aside with dry chuckle. "Didn’t think it was a competition. Besides, isn’t marriage just a mechanic in this game? You’re overreacting."
