Students were thoroughly warned before signing up to attend any of Dr. Ratio's classes. His lectures were not for the weak of heart, and those of the three per cent who passed excelled in their respective subjects. The rest were reduced to tears in the face of his scolding.
The class came to a halt as Ratio slammed his book shut. The audacity to be continuously disruptive under the assumption that the professor would not take action due to status? A ridiculous notion. Not only that, but they failed to answer the simple question on the board.
"Fail," Ratio had given this particular student opportunity after opportunity, which they continued to squander recklessly. A student who flaunts incompetence is not deserving of succeeding in his course, a simple truth.
"Get out—!" A knock on the door stopped the man, one which he recognised.
The doctor bit his tongue, quickly stepping towards the door before his partner could enter. "Remain in your seats and resume your work. This will only take a minute." Students were troublesome enough without having reason to doubt their professor.
Veritas' gaze softened the moment the door closed, if only by a fraction. "My love, I am rather occupied at the moment. If it's not a pressing matter, could it wait until dismissal?"
