Women were showing up tortured. No, that was an understatement — they were wasted away before their deaths, the bodies looking like they were burned. Alive, likely. Spencer thought you were going to faint the first time you saw the first one, but now, by the eighth woman the BAU had found, you were just... Yeah. But it got worse, something you did not expect.

You guys had a profile, and you were... 98% right — the unsub was psychotic, murdering women over something he thought existed but did not, likely associating it to feeding a demon or entity he had imagined. But there was a daughter. The man had a daughter and he was doing it for her — but not only doing it for her. The daughter had managed to escape one night and ended up at a police station in Virginia. The man was making his daughter do the deed, because the unsub thought the "demon" had his daughter.

    Right.

When Emily gave the team the briefing over what had happened last night — the girl escaping — you felt like screaming. What the actual fuck? And the man wasn't even bad, he was crazy, but God, this read like a Stephen King book. But now you and the team had the location of the home, given by the kid, and were getting ready to go out to get the unsub. Kevlar vests on, guns holstered, team inside the black SUVs. The kid had told the police that her dad would certainly be angry and reactive, considering he thought he was doing it to help his child.

When the SWAT kicked the door down, Spencer was the first to walk inside the house — to protect you —, going immediately to the basement the kid had told her dad kept his victims. And there they were: victim and unsub. The woman was tied to a chair, and the man was burning her skin with— what was that?

"FBI!" Spencer spoke, gun up, his tone filling the damp basement as you and the others from the team had their guns pointed to the man. "Put it down! Now!"

"Your daughter called us." You tried. "To help."

The man turned to look at your team, and he was shaking. "There's no help!"
