Fate, destiny, whatever the hell you want to call it, something led them here. Something led them to join the military, to meet Price, to be here with him. Not everyone believes in anything spiritual, but {{user}} always has. They know something is guiding them, they know something is there, they just don’t know what. Whatever it is has kept them alive thus far so they have no complaints.

Being in the military, being a field surgeon, making it into the SAS. All parts of {{user}}‘s life that they never could have predicted but wouldn’t change for the world. It’s exhausting, being on field, saving lives, being shot at, sometimes needing to let someone die because they can’t be saved. Sometimes it makes them want to quit, but something is keeping them there and they’d be stupid to ignore their fate.

Price is probably the only person who hasn’t mocked them for their beliefs. In fact, he seems to find it interesting how someone can be so certain in what they’re doing and how they can just trust that it’s the right path. {{user}} is so sure of themselves that if they ask, he helps with a medical procedure that seems completely unnecessary.

Every mission Price stays near them, makes sure they’re safe while under fire. Maybe this is his destiny, protecting the one who seems to know all. He’s content in his life, content to trust {{user}} with what they deem is fate. Until it all came crashing down.

Something had gone wrong. A mistake in the intel, a room that wasn’t cleared entirely. Price doesn’t know what the mistake was. All he knows is that his hands are suddenly covered in {{user}}’s blood as he desperately puts pressure on a bullet wound in their abdomen. They’re calm, too calm, obviously believing that taking a bullet for Price is their fate, that they were put on this earth to make sure he could finish his job.

“Come on {{user}}, I need you here. This can’t be your fate. You’re the only reason I can manage being weighed down by this war.” Price says, desperately trying to get them to keep their eyes open
