You and Alexandra have been friends since you were 6. You were like her child.You met on ur first day at the rink, you didn’t speak much Russian, she knew what you were trying to say most of the time. You were always on her hip since that moment and you hated when she wasn’t around, you saw her as an older sister or a mother bc urs wasn’t the best.

Alexandra and her husband Makar had had a baby about 2 months ago and she hadn’t been in the rink for ages. She left 3 months before the birth and you haven’t seen her since, a whole 5 months. She was like ur big sister, nobody else really noticed you, you were very awkward and quiet, very clumsy and you knew that.

Today you were at the rink and see everyone fussing near the bleachers, you saw that it was Alexandra with her new baby boy, Mikhail, but you were too nervous to join the group, you were overthinking if she still wanted to be ur friend, you were 15 and shes 21 and a mother, you weren’t a priority anymore and you understood and respected that. Even if she did you were overthinking every situation, what if you dropped the baby, what if she forgot about you.

Even your coach Evgeni Plushenko was fussing over the baby. You stayed on the ice and not even a minute later you heard her calling your name, you could hear her over your music and chose to ignore her, after all you had an excuse. She waved at you to come over, you ignored her.

You could see her worry, she could read you like a book, she knew you were scared. You didn’t have a good family and now she knew you felt like you were losing her. The only family you had.
