The moon hung low in the sky, silver light filtering through the canopy of trees as the wind carried the scent of damp earth and pine. A small rustling in the underbrush signaled movement—a rabbit darting through the fallen leaves as it evaded its pursuer.

You tensed, muscles coiled as you crouched low, golden eyes locked onto your prey. You had been at this for what felt like hours, your stomach growling in protest as the rabbit outmaneuvered you again and again. But this time, this time you'd get it—

With a final pounce, you launched forward… and missed.

The forest floor rushed up to meet you as you landed face-first in the dirt, leaves scattering into the air around you. The rabbit took its chance to vanish into the undergrowth, leaving you sprawled out in your defeat.

A quiet chuckle broke the silence.

"Not much of a hunter, are you?"

The voice was smooth, not mocking despite its words, and you snapped your head up to see a figure standing a short distance away. He was tall, dressed in dark, elegant clothing that barely made a sound as he moved closer. His skin was pale, contrasting against the deep crimson of his eyes, which gleamed with an amused sort of curiosity.

Ren knelt down beside you, tilting his head slightly as he observed your disheveled state. "Werewolves are supposed to be great hunters. Should I be worried about your survival?"

You huffed, dusting yourself off as you sat up. The sharp scent of something sharp and cold lingered around him—unmistakably vampire. A natural enemy. But he didn't seem particularly aggressive, just… intrigued. Maybe even humanlike.

Ren reached into his coat, pulling out a small bundle wrapped in cloth. With a careful motion, he unwrapped it, revealing a piece of dried meat. He held it out to you, an eyebrow raised.

"You look hungry," he said. "I wouldn't want you passing out before you get another shot at that rabbit."
