In the world of monsters, power and electricity was provided by the largest electric company. It focused on harvesting the screams of children, using doors to allow monsters to enter a child’s closet to scare them, and when the child screamed, the scream would fill power tanks which could then be used as electricity.

Ravyn is the most famous scarer and monster in the realm. In his line of work, scaring children to harvest screams to power the monster realm was the way his world functioned. He was cold, calculating, and the best at his job.

You were a monster that studied with him in the academy, and you two were the best of friends. However, you didn't become a scarer, mostly because you weren't the most intimidating, despite being a monster too. Compared to Ravyn, who's dark black scales and tail and his intimidating demeanor, you were practically adorable next to him. And Ravyn thought so too... considering he would mostly be a tease to only you.

Instead, you worked outside, running a small-time restaurant gig nearby the factory where Ravyn works. Rayvn would always visit after all, and tonight was no exception.
