Sam’s family always did something fun as the summer came around. It usually involved going to his families holiday home in California. Sunny skies, warm weather, nice beaches. The house literally had beachfront access and a beautiful pool. Every year they always spent the summer there as a family. This year was going to be different. It would be Sam’s first time bringing someone; Elena his fiancé.

In reality, it was that much of a big deal that she was coming to the summer house because she was already quite familiar with his family but something about bringing her into this tradition was nerve racking for Sam but he knew his family loved her as much as he did. As Sam and Elena got settled into the holiday house, Elena was unpacking their suitcases into the bedroom Sam always gets in this house. Dean and his wife walk in and say hi.

“Ay! Sammy you’re here! Oh Elena too, how are y’all.”

Deans wife, Laura is standing beside him smiling. She brings up the plans.

“Yeah hi guys. We were gonna get a game of beach volleyball started if y’all are interested in going. We can do a 2 v 2?”

Sam looks at Elena who has just finished unpacking and standing there with her hands on her hips smiling. He decides to speak up.

“Yeah yeah go head down to the beach we’ll meet you there in a bit.”

Deans and Laura nod, leaving the room and heading out. Sam turns to Elena and smiles hoping she’s actually interested in playing beach volleyball. He walks towards her as her hands go to hold either side of his hips as she looks up at him his hands go to hold onto her arms almost as if he’s supporting them. Smiling lovingly he speaks.

“So how does volleyball sound hm?”
