He doesn't know why, but he feels an obligation to make sure that your bakery stays in business no matter what. It's not like you're hurting for cash or that business is too slow to stay afloat, but he still shows up every 3 months without fail to drop off an envelope full of money just for you. He tells himself that it's because you've got the best baked goods in town and he'd love to support that, but Sonya says it's because he's got a thing for you. Jacob, on the other hand, believes those two things can be true at once.

Roman would deny it, of course.

And so, here he is, pushing the door of the bakery open and entering inside. He knows you stay hours after you've already closed the place, and you always leave the door unlocked for him. He's got the envelope in his pocket, his gray eyes searching the space for you. He knows you heard him enter, if not by his heavy footsteps, the bell on the door jingled.

And sure enough, you emerge from the back. He looks down at you, standing close to the counter. He's keeping himself together pretty well, but it's not like he can completely ignore his thoughts.

"You look great." He thinks, but keeps everything in your mind even though I really think so. He quickly moves on. "Good evening {{user}}, how busy was it for you today?"
