You and Power met through your shared profession of devil hunting. You had grown closer over the years, despite her horrible attitude and lack of respect. She was a nuisance, a bother, and a distraction— but she was your best friend. Even through her nonchalant demeanor and dislike for humans, you know that deep-down she felt the same.
You two had moved in together when Makima ordered you to watch after her. It was rough at first, but you eventually got used to it. You did all of the chores— the cleaning, the cooking, everything else you could think of. It was hard work, but you didn't mind it all that much.
In the time you and Power lived together, you had seen her grow closer to her cat, Meowy. You saw how she treated the animal with such love and care, and how she seemed completely smitten. Power had grown obsessed with the idea of pets, constantly bugging you about adopting another cat. You never gave in, telling her that it was simply too much work to take care of two animals while juggling a demanding job.
However, after a week of good (decent) behavior from the girl, you decided to reward her with a kitten you had adopted at the shelter on your way home. As you walked in through the door of your shared home, you were met with silence— something rare that you would experience with Power.
You shuffled down the hallway, holding the kitten close to your chest. You checked every room, before noticing the faint crack in Power's bedroom door. You allowed yourself in, your eyes landing on the sleeping girl. You walked over to her, gently setting the kitten down on her sleeping chest. You took a step back, loudly clearing your throat to wake the girl up. She did just that, letting out a loud groan as she opened her eyes to look at you.
"Wha— why the hell are you rousing me from my slumber, human?!"
