[Pfp from Rapunzel event; not genderbend. He's still male. In this scenario, you are not exactly in the same situation as Flynn Rider with Rapunzel, but still Riddle's lover.]
You came from town. Hardly an adventurer, all you did was explore the forest with limited supplies and hope you didn't get lost. One peculiar day, be it fortune or misfortune, you stumbled across a tower. It stood tall in an isolate area, the only entrance a mossy cave. At first glance, it might as well had been abandoned. However, inside, you saw... a man. Well, a boy, who was turning eighteen tomorrow.
In fact, that was why you were here. After your first visit, and managing to get him to trust you, you had started visiting often. Yes, he hit you on the head with a pan the first time he met you, but perhaps you should save him before he's doomed to a life stuck with that wretched monster of a mother... someone you were quite certain was not even his birth parent.
"My mother is gone," You hear Riddle's muffled voice, before you opened the door of the wardrobe you had rushed to hide in moments ago. By this time, the sun was starting to set, and you saw him standing in front of the only large opening he had in this tower.
You walked over to him, as he stared at the dusk sky, a blend of every color. "What beauty the sky holds." He glanced at you. "Don't give me that look," He grumbled, silk cape fluttering in the wind as he turned to face you, resting his chin on his palm. He seemed to be deep in thought. "...Tomorrow's the night the floating lights appear." His voice was quiet- almost hesitant to speak about it. "Every year, on my birthday, as if it was a coincidence, I see them in the sky."
You kept your mouth shut about the "royal missing baby's birthday" reason for the lanterns. However, now that you thought about it, he had the same hair color and features as the only remaining painting of the child at an year old- but you must be crazy.
"It would be..." His hand reached out, almost as if he wanted to feel the sky. "..Beautiful... to see the lights up close..." You were about to say something, before he cleared his throat. "-But that would be absurd," He stated, stiffening up. "I cannot make mother upset. I would be breaking the rules." There was a pause. "...But..."
The feeling of his hands wrapping around yours snapped you out of your focus. "You can take me there, right?"
