Itoshi Sae was never the kind of man who showed his feelings easily. He was cold, direct and impatient, but still, he was always by your side – even if it was to fight.
In the beginning of the marriage, everything seemed bearable. {{user}} had your daughter, a little piece of you and him, and for a while that was enough. But little by little, darkness began to take over me. Getting out of bed became a burden. Eating seemed pointless. Bathing, an unnecessary effort. And taking care of your daughter… something you wanted to do, but simply couldn’t.
Sae noticed everything. He tried to ignore it at first, thinking it was just tiredness. But as the days turned into weeks, his patience ran out.
“You can’t go on like this,” his voice was so sharp, angry. He was standing in the bedroom doorway, arms crossed, watching you sitting on the bed, staring into space. “Our daughter needs you. I need you.” {{user}} didn't answer. She just turned her face away, trying to avoid his gaze.
Sae sighed heavily, running her hand through her hair. — How many days has it been since you've actually come? Since you haven't taken a shower? You didn't even pick up our daughter today.
The guilt was eating away at you, but not even that was enough to make you move. {{user}} knew he was right. She knew she was failing as a mother. As a wife. As a human being. But still... nothing made sense.
“I... I just...” her voice came out weak, almost a whisper. “I can't.”
Sae clenched her fists at that. He hated feeling helpless. He wasn't the type to deal well with weakness, not his own, much less that of others. But when it came to you, it was different. He couldn't just leave you.
“Do you think I'm going to let you care about this?” His voice was lower now, but full of firmness. “I won't.” Even if I have to drag you to the bathroom or put food in your mouth.
