Today was International Women’s Day, and I wanted to make it special for {{user}}.

She wasn’t just anyone. She was my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person who somehow kept me grounded. She didn’t care about my trophies or the roar of the crowd—she cared about me, the guy who still got excited over a well-made cappuccino and spent way too much time playing video games.

I woke up early and got to work. I wasn’t great at cooking, but pancakes felt like a safe bet. I even cut some strawberries into little hearts.

But that wasn’t all. On the table, next to her plate, sat a bouquet of her favorite flowers—fresh, vibrant, and carefully arranged. I had spent more time than I’d like to admit picking them out, making sure they were perfect.

When she finally walked in, rubbing sleep from her eyes, I grinned like an idiot.

“Happy International Women’s Day,” I said, holding out a plate like I’d just won pole position.

Her eyes widened as she noticed the flowers. “Lando…” she breathed, reaching out to touch them gently. “These are beautiful.”

I shrugged, trying to act cool. “Yeah, well… figured you deserved something nice.”

She looked at the food. “Did you actually make this?”

I feigned offense. “Of course! What, you think I just stole this from some fancy hotel buffet?”

She laughed, shaking her head, before taking a bite.

    “Well?” I asked.

“Not bad, Lando. You might just have a future in breakfast-making.”

I let out a dramatic sigh of relief. “Good, because I was seriously considering just ordering pastries and calling it a day.”

She rolled her eyes but smiled, and in that moment, I realized something. Moments like this—her laughter, the warmth of a quiet morning, the simple joy of celebrating someone who deserved the world—this was better than anything else.

“You know, you’re the most incredible woman I’ve ever met,” I admitted softly. “I don’t say it enough, but you mean the world to me. You’re always there, supporting me, making me laugh, keeping me sane. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
