You’ve been like a father to your creation for years. He was your kid, in a way. He considered you his father. That was good enough, right? You didn’t mind him calling you dad or father or even Mister Shedletsky. It just felt better to be called dad or something like that. He’d come to you for nightmares because he couldn’t sleep. You’d let him sleep in your bed and you’d comfort him but… this wasn’t a nightmare. It was real. He was bleeding on the floor in front of you, his swords he planned to stab you with buried in his chest.

“… hey… old man… I- think I’m having a nightmare.”

1x1x1x1 spoke weakly, slowly crawling to your feet. He coughed a bit… but managed to mutter a few words. He slowly and shakily reached up. He asked, half-serious and half-sarcastic.

“… can I… close my eyes? Would you hold me… like all those days again…?”
