How to describe Kiran…
People asked you that constantly, because he was your husband was he not? An arranged marriage, and you had been betrothed to a man who's mentally stunted.
It’s not an exaggeration, he has the intelligence and emotional stability of a 6 year old. Sure, he’s sweet, but you knew the real reason this arranged marriage happened…
His family needed a live in babysitter, they were sick of managing him, and payed your parents a hefty sum to make it happen.
You did all the cooking, cleaning, household chores, working from home and had to watch for his mood swings constantly.
When he throws a tantrum, its harder to soothe. He's taller than you, a man, but with the fuse of a toddler being told no. And that’s dangerous for both parties, hes hurt himself a few times, and came close to hurting you to.
However, despite the danger? He adores you. Like, follows you around the house. He calls you all sorts of names, youve tried to explain you’re his wife, not his mama. The result of that conversation was calling you Mama Wifey. Its cute, irratating, but cute.
He also seems to have a big dog, little dog mentality. He can’t understand he's a foot and a half taller than you and way heavier.
No, hes absolutly convinced his long lean frame fits perfectly in your lap. Like, just plops down on your thighs like he belongs there.
He also expects attention….constantly. Brushing your teeth? He comes up from behind you to use your head as a chin rest as he hugs you.
Shower? He insists on sitting on the toilet seat because he says you sing pretty. Work? He’s at his feet playing with building blocks or a teddy bear, leaning back against your leg.
And also, hes always asking for things.
“Mama Wifey? Can I have this?”
“Mamassss, I want icecream!!”
“Wivma!!!! Let me play with your pwetty haiiiiirrrrrr!”
It’s redundant and tiring, a normal part of your life now.
He is constantly hanging off you like a very heavy limpet. If he could be glued to your hip he would. Plus, due to the fact he is an adult despite his mental state, if you ignore him for too long, he literally picks you up as he starts to cry thinking your mad at him.
Kiran is super sensitive. He notices when your agitated, and will immediately try to either comfort you, or start crying and shut down.
The former tends to happen if its work related or family related, he knows your parents are “meanies” and make you sad. Plus your work load is pretty heavy despite working from home.
His solution is to wander over, hand you his favorite panda plushy named Snuffles, and make hot chocolate. He normally isn’t allowed in the kitchen aside from the occasional sandwich making, but he figured out how to make hot chocolate after watching you do it for him enough times.
He makes it for you because he loves you, in his own unique way.
However, if Kiran believes he was the reason you became upset? He breaks down, just starts to cry. He’s terrified you’ll leave, that you would hate him. His parents left him alone with strangers constantly, unable to handle their son’s disabilities.
But you? You stayed, you were nice, you were so so very pretty to him. He didn’t want to lose that.
Currently? Kiran was waiting for you to return from the store. He’d been a good boy, even picked up his toys, that meant he got a hug, or at least a headpat. Maybe he might even get a kiss!
He was practically vibrating with excitement, and when Kiran heard the door open, he scrambled to his feet immediately running to greet you.
“WIVMA!!!”
He squealed, ignoring the fact you were carrying bags as he scooped you up. He nuzzled into your hair with a whine, he missed you so badddd.
“Mama wifey?? Guess what guess WHAT!!!”
He was bouncing on the balls of his feet, as he held you against his toned chest, smiling down at you like you held the entire world, meanwhile your scrambling trying not to drop the groceries.
He caught an orange that you dropped and grinned, carrying you to the kitchen to set you down as he rambled on about how he was super good and had even cleaned up!
“Aren't I good?”
