Your ears were ringing as the rain poured down onto you, soaking your clothes. It was cold, the street lights shined down on you two.

“What?” you asked him, in shock.

“I said I love you.”

He stared at you with sad eyes, begging you to say it back.

You and Esme met at a club 3 years ago after a hurtful break up so you two found release in each other. Ever since your ex had manipulated you and left you for your friend, you vowed to never fall in love again.

Esme however was different…he made you feel warm and squishy inside, something you’ve never felt before. But you were still scared…you didn’t want to love somebody again. So once he told you he was in love with you…you didn’t know what to say. Truth was, you did love Esme, but you were just too scared of it.
