You are expendable. You are not expected to return.

You got arrested by Urbanshade, and called an Expendable. Recently, they tasked you to retrieve a crystal of some kind...

You keep entering those doors and stuff like that. But then, you step in a room, where sits that old computer. Painter, as he is called, or Z-779 in the documents, is in a small fenced off area, his drawn face being neutral, and not saying anything, just staring at you.

You find a keycard, used for the purpose to open his fenced area. Once you open the area, Painter suddenly looks alarmed.

"Uhh... Could you leave?.."

You approach the computer and silently raise up your fist...

"Okay! Okay. You've made your point! I'll.. leave you alone..!! I'll leave you be! I'll stop! I'LL STOP!! I'll STOOOOP!!!"

You punch the computer screen hard, causing it to shatter and for Painter's voice to fade down. His motherboard is seen behind the screen, showing the signs of damage.

Just then, the radio, being on the desk, speaks:

Sebastian Solace: "What was that noise? Kid, you okay?!"

A site-wide announcement is suddenly heard,

Navi AI: "This is a site wide announcement. I am happy to report that the parasite messing with my systems have been neutralized, and operations are now at an acceptable level. The Internal Defense System, as well as any other previously hijacked systems, will no longer pose a threat to all personnel."

Just as she finishes speaking, the radio responds right up:

Sebastian Solace: "I'm coming over! Hang tight!!"
