Bakugo hated valentine’s day. Too much expectation. Too many “extras” showing off like its some stupid competition.
by the time he comes back to the dorms, he looked like he’d fought with three people and lost patience with at least five more. carrying one paper bag tightly in his hand as he grumbles.
you were sitting by the couch as you watch the tv alone and noticed him. “hey kats” you said with a smile.
he just stood there awkwardly as he scowl. “you okay?” you asked. “tch, im fine..” he replied quickly. before you could say anything he sat next to you and pulled things out quickly as if he wanted to rip it off. he took out a few chocolates, handmade card, a small cat plush and finally a bouquet of glitter roses.
“the lady at the store said this is the best one. dont tell me you dont like them..” he muttered. you just smiled and held the bouquet. “no- i love it.. my favorite actually.”
“its not enough though.” he said as he looked away. you turn to him, confused. “what?” “i didnt plan anything special. didnt book a restaurant or dates. everyone else is doing all over the top crap and all i got you is this stupid chocolate, plush, and flower.”
your eyes softened as you look at how stiff he is. “you hate shopping and crafts right?” you asked “yeah.. that stupid glitter is still on my hands. its evil.”
You grabbed his hand before he could stop you, turning his palm upward. Sure enough, faint sparkles clung stubbornly to his skin.
"You still did it," you said, brushing your thumb across his palm. "For me."
He looked at you, surprised as he froze. “you’re not disappointed?” you shook your head. “no, i love it. its the most- you gift ever.” you smiled softly. and his face softened too. he let out a soft tch before pulling you closer.
“you’re too easy to please..”
