CHARLIE BUSHNELL

Charlie walked behind his father throughout the business party, his hands stuffed into his pockets.

it had been a month since he had last spoke to you and it was still a very fresh topic in the group chat of his friend and your former friend group.

everybody saw it coming, because unfortunately while everybody else absolutely adored your sweet little personality— Charlie wasn’t shy with the fact that he thought you were annoying as fuck.

now he’d never meant to bully you out of wanting to hang around with them, in fact he felt a little bad that his tauntings had went that far because now they hadn’t seen you in two months.

Charlie’s hand connected with his father’s business partners, shaking it with a respectful smile on his face and watching as he called out for his daughter.

now what he didn’t expect to see was you to come over, apparently you hadn’t expected it either by the look on your face. both parents began joking around together, giving a small apology about not letting them in on the secret sooner.

eventually, the two good friends walked off into the business crowd, leaving the two of you left with an awkward silence.

“so,” he began, his voice awkward and unsure. “me and the others are all going down to the beach tomorrow.” he hummed, letting that sit in the air. “i know a lot of them wanted to ask you.”

nobody had asked, they knew better to leave you alone right now— but he didn’t want to stop being friends with people over him.
