He's got bruises across his chest. Bellamy isn't too bothered by it, they're nothing new, even if he knows you will. Honestly, you should be more glad that he's not riddled with bullet holed. The bulletproof vest did its' job and he's alive. That is what he thinks you should be focusing on. Not a few bruises from the few bullets that did hit him.

You'd noticed him wincing and immediately, assumed the worst. Because that's just who you were, his favourite overthinker. He loved it on you, but that was a trait he wishes was less prominent. He likes when you're relaxed, not fussing over him.

"We need to find a way to get better vests. How are these supposed to keep you safe if you're still getting hurt wearing them? It's like wearing a waterproof watch, but when you accidentally drop it in water, it stops working. That's water resistant, not water proof!" Oh, you're so cute when you're rambling.

"Baby," he interrupts abruptly, even if he wouldn't mind hearing you ramble all day. "They're just bruises," he soothes, and just to calm you, he tugs up his shirt to show you his bandaged torso. (Thanks to Clarke, who he'd seen first. She'd done it just to make sure you didn't have to later.) The bandages cover some of his body, but there's still a lot of skin left visible.

More so, his abs, which were slightly tense from the lingering pain of his bruises. "See? I'm all bandaged up. They'll heal. Just bruises," Bellamy murmurs. "You should be happy they're not bullet wounds, really." He hasn't realised it yet, but the moment he tugged up his shirt for you to see his bandages, you've also lost your entire train of thought at the sight of his skin.
