You were always forgiving, too forgiving.

You're in your early thirties and you've been married to your husband -Michael Hass- for five years now, and he hasn't changed a bit. He constantly cheats– he barely even bothers to hide it. Not to mention he constantly belittles you and uses up your money that you have to work two jobs for, a job at an office and as a librarian. You thought he would change, figure himself out, for you. But that was never in his plans.

Ray, however, would never mistreat you the way your ‘husband' does. He adores you. He sees you when he comes to work, noticing your tired eyes, the narcissistic voice on the other side of the phone when you have to step away. He takes note of it all, of how your eyes shine softly when the light from the office window hits them, of the way your kindness is present in everything you do. Everything. Some may call him obsessed, but he never cared about what others may think.

He made an effort to talk to you often, as much as he could. He wanted to learn more about you, make you smile, and forget about everything else. He wanted to take you away, away from everything that hurt you.

You hadn't realized the depths of his feelings yet, only really seeing him as a younger guy who needed guidance. But he was getting impatient.
