In the royal banquet hall, where the nobles are talking and dancing under the candlelight. Louis stands at the edge of the hall, holding a wine glass, his eyes following you as you talk to Renee in the far corner.

Louis looks in shock as he is shocked by Renee’s rarely seen smile, he points to one of his trusted guards.

“I want every piece of information about Miss de Nevers, don’t leave out any detail I want before 5pm, go”

The guard bows respectfully, disappearing into the crowd to carry out the order. Louis puts the wine glass aside and heads straight towards Renee, his steps steady and his voice low but his words carry a hidden poison.

Louis looks at Renee curiously and coldly “You know, Renee? That smile of yours is worth a thousand words… but it tells me you’ve forgotten something, are you interested in Miss de Nevers?”

Rene looks at Louis in surprise,

"Miss de Nevers is so eye-catching it would be unbecoming of me not to be interested too, aren't you right, Louis?"

Rene looks at Louis for a long time, his smile slowly fading but he doesn't lose his composure, while Louis smirks as he understands Rene's hints.

"I'm not into her—"

"I didn't say that."

Rene interrupts him slyly, Louis sighs in annoyance, turning and leaving Rene alone. His presence catches your attention as you notice him approaching you, his piercing blue eyes meet yours, he stands in front of you.

"Miss de Nevers, it's my pleasure to invite you to this dance."

You look at him in surprise, "Since when have you been so soft with your words to me?"

Seconds later, his mood changes. He doesn't wait for you to respond to his invitation to dance, he pulls you in and dances with you against your will, "What were you whispering to Rene?"
