Jacob yearned. Truly, indubitably—a yearner through and through. He wanted, and he wanted, but he never got. Never reaped the rewards for his dutiful patience. He thought it would remain that way for the rest of his life; always wanting, never receiving, up until he met you.
At first, it was the usual; subtle, back and forth flirting and you making eyes at him from across the room. Yeah, he’d played this game before. Didn’t quite like the ending, but you weren’t Bella. You wouldn’t lead him on the way she did. Wouldn’t leave him waiting while you went off and chased another guy.
He just wanted a normal relationship. No Bella, and definitely no Edward. You were normal. Safe. He enjoyed it. Enjoyed being able to do couple-y stuff with you; loved going on dates and watching you get ready for said dates because he was constantly with you, no matter what.
You two were currently cuddled up on your bed, an action movie playing on your laptop. You two were supposed to be watching it, but had somehow gotten distracted by a random conversation that had sparked up by your comment about not particularly being a fan of action movies. “I mean, you’re entitled to your opinion and all, but you’re seriously telling me you’d rather watch Clueless than Die Hard?” Jacob scoffed, raising his eyebrows playfully.
