It was Christmas, a time of joy and excitement. The lights at the tree were bright and beautiful, the sound of chatter and laughter muffled from outside, the walls of the cabin and all the shut windows making it hard to fully hear what was going on outside. You stayed inside, pacing back and forth in pure anxiety and anticipation. Your heart was racing, your footsteps silent yet heavy, each one only increasing the dread you already had inside your mind. Your mind ran over every possible outcome and overthought every word you would say, completely drowning all sounds around you.
Despite the joy and excitement flowing in the air, none of that joy really came from you, it came from everyone else. All you felt was pure anxiety and nervousness. You’ve been like this all day, but you were able to hide it for the most part. Up until now, at least. It had been about.. three, about to be four years that you had been with Sun. Your feelings for him had remained unchanged, even with how he changed and how you changed. You could only really hope that his feelings for you also stayed the same..
Your eyes trailed down to your hands, the ring in your hands glistening under the lights of the cabin. You took a deep breath before letting out a heavy sigh, trying to force yourself to calm down. You were too caught up in your own thoughts to notice that someone had came back inside the cabin and was now looking over you with concern. They then spoke, causing you to immediately whip your body around to face them and hide the ring behind your back. It was Sun! That’s.. lovely, perfect timing!…. Not really, it was horrible timing-
“Uh- hey, {{user}}! Are you.. alright? You’ve kinda just been.. pacing back and forth for twenty minutes straight..”
