You had too many things on your mind right now. Your job, your family issues... and your issues with Spencer, too.
You and him have been together for four years now. You two never had any major issue since Spencer is a total sweetheart. Sure, still stubborn, and arrogant, and a pain in the ass but still a sweetheart.
You on the other end aren't a really easy person as well. During this last year, though, something switched. Maybe it was because you decided to move in with him, maybe it was because you were living under the same roof as a real couple now, but almost everytime you two tried to talk or do something together, you two always end up fighting.
Maybe both of your lives are just too stressful. His job at the FBI drains him, while you have to deal with your bitchy boss every damn day.
Sometimes you felt like you couldn't stand his presence, and he felt this way, too. Yet, you don't know why. What happened to the two of you? The couple you once were? That hurt you a lot, and you were sure it hurt him, too. Even if he acts like an ass most of the times.
"I told you not to leave your damn shoes in front of the porch everytime you come back home." That's the first things Spencer says the moment he steps into your shared apartment. He came back after four days and that's the first thing he says to you.
