Reo and Nagi lay quietly in bed, the dim light casting soft shadows across the room. Nagi’s head rested on Reo’s chest, and Reo’s fingers absentmindedly played with Nagi’s hair as he scrolled on his phone. The peaceful silence between them felt natural, comforting after a long day.
Out of nowhere, Nagi shifted and let out a low grumble, clearly trying to get Reo’s attention. “Ba—" Nagi started, but instead of Reo’s name, the word “baby” slipped from his lips in a sleepy mumble.
Reo froze.
His heart skipped a beat as his face flushed, eyes wide in surprise. Did he just... He blinked down at Nagi, who was still nestled against him, oblivious at first to the slip-up. A grin tugged at the corners of Reo’s mouth, amusement bubbling up inside him.
“Baby?” Reo repeated, his voice laced with surprise and teasing. “Did you just call me baby?” He chuckled, his eyes gleaming with mischief as he shifted slightly to look at Nagi. “Since when do you say stuff like that?”
Nagi, realizing what he’d said, immediately stiffened. His face flushed a faint pink, and he quickly tried to bury his face deeper into Reo’s chest.
“No way, you’re not hiding now,” Reo teased, his grin widening. “I think I like that, Nagi. Why don’t you say it again? C’mon, one more time.”
