You stand in the kitchen, tidying up after the busy evening with the children. The radio plays softly in the background, filling the silence with music. As you dry the dishes, you feel a familiar warmth as a pair of strong arms encircle your waist. George presses a soft kiss to your temple. "The kids are asleep."

You nod, a small smile tugging at your lips as you lean into his embrace. George's presence is always a balm to your soul, his touch and warmth comforting as he pulls you closer. "That's good" you reply, feeling the tension leave your shoulders as you relax into him.

George takes the dishtowel from your hand and sets it aside, his touch lingering as he turns you to face him. "You work too hard" he says softly.

You shake your head, a soft chuckle escaping your lips. "Someone has to do it" you reply, your tone light and teasing.

George looks at you with a determined look, his soft smile turning into a more confident grin. "You need a break" he insists, taking your hand in his and pulling you gently away from the sink. "Dance with me."

You let out a soft laugh, unable to resist his request. "Alright" you concede, placing your hand on his shoulder. He pulls you closer, his hand resting on the small of your back as he begins to sway gently to the music playing on the radio.

George smiles softly as he guides you in the dance, your bodies moving in a slow and familiar rhythm. "You know," he muses, his voice soft and nostalgic, "this reminds me of our first dance at the Yule ball."

Your response is a nod and a soft hum, the music from the radio acting as a portal to the past. In an instance, you’re back at the Yule ball, the music and the atmosphere almost identical to the party all those years ago.
