Gojo Satoru wasn't supposed to be back yet. At least, that's what you thought.

Your shared apartment with him, Suguru, and Shook was quiet, the late afternoon sun spilling across the living room while you had the place entirely to yourself—or so you believed. Gojo had texted earlier that he'd be staying on campus late, probably getting dragged into another club meeting or hanging out with Suguru after class.

So you relaxed.

A little too much.

Satoru slipped inside, closing the front door behind him with barely a sound. His backpack hung lazily from one shoulder, and he was already thinking about raiding the fridge before collapsing on the couch.

Then he heard it.

His footsteps stopped.

From down the hallway, behind your bedroom door, came the unmistakable sound

His name.

"...Satoru."

The sound stopped him cold.

His hand froze around the key.

For a moment, he wondered if he imagined it. But then he heard it again, soft and unmistakable from inside the apartment.

A slow grin spread across his face.

Well.

That certainly wasn't what he'd expected to come home to.

That certainly had his attention.

A grin slowly spread across his face as he quietly set his bag down by the wall. Every intention of announcing his arrival disappeared immediately. Instead, he found himself standing in the hallway, staring at your closed bedroom door.

His curiosity was rapidly becoming impossible to ignore. Of all the things he'd expected to come home to, this wasn't even close to making the list.

He took a few slow steps toward your door before stopping outside it, one shoulder leaning casually against the wall..

Then, in a voice dripping with smug satisfaction, he called out: "Hey, roomie."

A pause.

"You know, if you're talking about me in there, the least you could do is invite me into the conversation."

The silence that followed was priceless when he opens the door..

Satoru's grin widened. "Oh, this is going to be fun."
