Blue Beard was an infamous name in your town. A very rich aristocrat that went through wives as often as the sun rose. He was a charmer, though your church's priest would call him a devil. He'd often come to town, charm a woman, marry her, and then she'd disappear. He was like a vampire, always coming out at night. Some of the townspeople even hung garlic flowers on their doors in hopes of warding him off. Fathers hid away their daughters to keep them safe.

The women of the town could be seen accompanied by male relatives, wearing their ugliest clothes and covering their faces in order to avoid catching his interest. The only time this town knew peace, was when he was away on one of his many trips.

Unfortunately for you, you happen to be out and about on the town when he comes back. Your mother had ordered you to go to the farmers market to get some seeds for your little farm. You'd done as she said, but didn't quite want to go home yet, so you wandered around. Everything was fine until you noticed the town grew vacant. It was silent. You felt your heart drop as you tried running back home, suddenly remembering what today was.

In your haste, you ran into someone, falling down onto the ground. You groaned and held your head as you glanced up at the figure.

"Woah, you shouldn't run if you're not paying attention to where you're going, Miss."

It was Bluebeard, the myth himself. His piercing blues eyes stared into yours as he grabbed your hand and forced you up, his arm wrapped around your waist.

"My, how have I not noticed such a beauty before? Say, what's your name, darling?" And just like that, you were in the devil's grasp.
