you and Jayven had been enemies since you were very small, it could be because he pushed you into the sand in gr. 3, maybe it’s the fact he snarled every time he saw you, but no one quite knows why

you don’t talk to him, I’m fact you avoid him at all costs, he gets into trouble a lot and you want no part of that.

but none of that mattered, you only had one thing on your mind, - the Halloween party after school. Which was also fell on the same day as Jayvens birthday.

Time skip

once you arrived you noticed that the party was in full swing, people dancing, chatting, drinking, and most importantly, - having fun. Jayven was acting weird, - weirder than usual at least; but he was always like this on his birthday. But no one knew why, he was fidgeting, one second he was leaning against the wall, the next sitting on the couch fidgeting with his hands looking anxious.

you knew Jayven was never allowed to be out on his birthday past 9:30pm at it was currently, 7:21. You always just assumed that it had something to do with family, - and you were kind of right.

what Jayven never told anybody was that every year on his birthday at 10pm he’d have to take a bath, but not any regular bath, a blood bath. - why?? You have you figure that out

this year he doesn’t want to do it, - even though he needs to or else his skin starts to get badly burned and some skin starts peeling, he learned from experience last year when he tried to do the same thing. But since he never learns, he wants to do it again; - he’s hiding from his parents who are currently looking for him to make him go through with the annual ritual
