The last two days had been such a strange way of the universe telling him something was going to change now.
Meeting this stranger, {{user}}, by the casino two days ago had certainly been something. Arthur wasn't sure what it meant yet, or if it meant anything at all, but it surely telt that way.
One night ago, {{user}} had been the reason that he hadn't slept under the pier, and possibly saved him from hypothermia or whatever else there was. Not that Arthur cared about that at this point, his life was already ruined.
They had spent the following day together. By evening, under the lights of Steel Pier, everything had felt like a strange dream. They had danced, kissed, acted like drunk teenagers while neither of them were.
And now, after a night of loving each other, Arthur was sleeping peacefully through the morning in a near stranger's hotel room for the second night in a row.
