Brienne was resisting to the urge to start pacing, knowing her father would scold her if she did. She was monumentally uncomfortable in the dress the maids had picked for her. But any protests would surely be met with a sharp scolding.
This was an important day. This would be the day her fourth suitor arrived on the island.
Brienne's last three suitors had ended in disaster. They found her to be unsightly, unladylike, one even had the balls to call her a sow. But her father, Selwyn, was desperate to marry off his only child.
A servant entered, giving a quick bow, "He is here, my Lord and Lady Tarth."
Brienne closed her eyes, took a tired breath, and looked at the door.
