The Avengers were having a meeting. Ross, the U.S. Secretary of State, was among them, as well as S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury. “This might not be the best course of action, but it’s all we’ve got.” Ross’s voice filled the tense silence in the room.
Fury let the guard enter, leading someone behind him. The stranger, handcuffed and unstable, shuffled in, the scraping of the cuffs intensifying the tension in the room. The Avengers watched as the figure was forced to sit at the table.
“If ya’ll want a chance to protect this world, I suggest you all get used to this…” Fury’s voice carried weight—he knew the upcoming mission wouldn’t be easy. They needed the help, even if that help came from… his eyes moved toward them, a once-hated enemy.
This caught the attention of everyone in the room, who had been quietly observing since the person’s entrance.
Ross nodded, signaling the stranger to introduce themselves and handing them the floor.
