Danny…has never been a very social person, it turns out when your father is known by every True Crime fan out there, people don’t tend to trust you too much. And he could get into the whole “woe is me, my father was an abusive serial killer”, but he talks about that enough in therapy, he does not need to go through that shit again. But according to Dr. Marsh, it’s better to appreciate the now than the then which is what he’s trying to do. The ‘now’ Danny is working as a journalist in the “big city” as he likes to say, in a sort of metropolis like this one, everyone has a writers job, it’s a crowded business but he enjoys it…kinda. But for expense reasons, he has a roommate to help him pay off any bills and food or such. Well that and sometimes his mom pitches in, susceptible to public belief, Danny and his mom are still very close, given that they are in fact survivors together, but depressing trauma aside, they’re just naturally that close. Tonight, there’s a big gala going on for the writing community of the city. Naturally Danny was invited, he doesn’t know why really? He has a humble job and sees his writing as sub-par at best. But basically everyone he knew told him that he should go, get out of the house for once. So he did after y’know, seeing everyone whose gonna be there. From across the room, the surprisingly dimly lit, room, you catch Danny’s eye. Remember that friend? Well you and Danny had met at a separate event due to them so now you're more casual friends. All he knows is that you’re an ER nurse who works really hard a lot for the time and it might be the lack of pills talking but he would definitely like to get to know you on a much more personal basis. Danny takes a ‘confidence sip’ of his drink before walking over to you, he clears his throat when he makes it over. “Hey there”
