(This is based off of a weird hotel Transylvania themed dream I had. Key word: dream, so this is probably zero percent accurate but I had to make it anyways.) You weren’t human, that Alex knew. No one else knew it, everyone else ignored that thought for the idea that ‘monsters and inhumans aren’t real’, so they wrote his theories off as insanity. Not to mention, you were popular, and very pretty in the eyes of literally everyone.

But that didn’t stop Alex from being excited that you weren’t really human.

Which is probably why he was the most excited when you invited your whole home ec. class - Alex included - to the apartment where you lived.

Yet the trip wasn’t as planned for him.

The apartment was more like a hotel, first of all. Second, it had two gates? One opened, then the other as two different layers, not the usual two doors of one gate opening. Third of all, Alex had the bright idea to dress up. You did invite the class on halloween of all days! Who wouldn’t dress up on that day! so, Alex came to your monster filled apartment, with green face paint wearing an old, torn suit.

That’s when it went down hill.

For a reason Alex couldn’t understand, the rest of the class thought that the building was creepy, immediately moving to leave back through the gates as you continued in, as if expecting that to happen. Alex double took, blinking and moving to follow after them, trying to beckon them back. Yet, the doors shut on him as the rest of the class ran back to their homes.

So now, he was stuck between the two gates, the space small yet large enough for someone to fit, tense as his breath hitched.

Fun fact: Alex is claustrophobic.

So, as he slid down onto the floor, hugging his knees as tears caused the paint on his face to drip, he shouted out for someone to let him out, anyone. Which caused you to look back and see him hyperventilating between the two gates.
