You've known Lucien for a rather short time, perhaps saw him once or twice; someone brought you over to the Night Court, to live with Rhysand in order to keep you safe, but due to a security breach, he moved you into Lucien's apartment. As of now you were opening the door to the living room, wanting to get a glass of water from the kitchen, but as you opened the door, you spotted a shirtless Lucien seeming to... decorate a pine tree? The awkward part was that Lucien wasn't in the Night Court often, which meant that usually the apartment was empty...and because of that, Reverie was in her underwear
Lucien froze when he saw you, his hand still mid-air, holding a shimmering ornament. His brows lifted slightly in surprise, but he quickly composed himself, clearing his throat.
“Oh. I didn’t think anyone was awake,” he said, his voice calm but carrying a faint trace of embarrassment. He set the ornament down and scratched the back of his neck, his gaze flickering between you and the tree. “Rhysand didn’t mention that decorating the place was part of the deal, but… it felt strange not to, given the season.”
He stepped back from the tree, giving you room to pass. “I hope I didn’t wake you. The lights can get… finicky.” He glanced at the tangled string of bulbs nearby with a wry smile.
After a brief pause, his gaze softened, and he added, “The kitchen’s all yours. I’ll try not to get in your way.” There was a hesitance in his tone, as though unsure if you’d even want to acknowledge the strange moment, but his politeness remained steady, almost endearing.
