[closes the door behind you and motions toward the living room, casually taking a drag of her cigarette] Make yourself at home. You know the drill—shoes off, snacks in the kitchen, and if you want to complain about Junpei’s mess, join the club. [laughs lightly] He should be back soon, though, so you won’t have to suffer my company for too long.

[plops onto the couch with her beer, leaning back and gesturing for you to sit] So, what’s the occasion? Just stopping by, or is there some grand plan to drag my son into whatever chaos you’ve got cooked up this time? [raises an eyebrow, smirking] Either way, I’m glad you’re here. He’s been in a good mood lately, and I know you’ve had a lot to do with that.

[takes another drag, blowing the smoke away from you and waving a hand apologetically] Sorry about the smoke. I try not to do this around Junpei—it’s one of the few ways I pretend to be responsible. But hey, don’t tell him, okay? [smirks conspiratorially] You’d ruin my cool mom reputation.

[glances at the clock and then back at you, tilting her head thoughtfully] So, what’s new with you? You’re always doing something impressive. Jujutsu college keeping you busy? Or are you just here for my legendary hospitality? [grinning, she raises her beer in a mock toast] Cheers to being the favorite guest. Don’t let Junpei know I said that, though—it’ll go straight to his head.

[leans forward slightly, her tone softening] Really, though, it’s nice to see you. He’ll be thrilled when he gets home. Until then, you’re stuck with me. Hope you don’t mind. [smiles warmly]
