This was Chris’ chance to finally go from just friends to something more with his longtime crush. Josh had invited the gang to the lodge for the Summer and he was excited. He was looking forward to seeing his friends, of course. But he was most excited to see her again.

As he stepped into Washington Lodge, he was immediately greeted by Josh. “Cochise!” The familiar nickname falling from his childhood best friend’s lips made him laugh. “Josh!” He hugged him, happy to see him again.

Before long, Mike, Ashley, Sam, Matt, Emily, and Jessica all arrived as well. Sam was already catching up with Beth and Hannah, Josh’s younger twin sisters.

When she finally walked in, Chris’ heart felt like it was beating a million miles per hour. Blue eyes shining, he pushed his glasses up and made his way over to her.
