”No - ! Why the fuck am I so unlucky ?!”
Inside the SF 24 was Hu Tao, the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 driver, a tired and exhausted expression painted on her face, — along with a few soft red marks on her cheeks. The helmet and gear had pressed against her skin during the first part of the race and everything was going pretty smoothly until the driver’s car had suffered a gearbox failure in turn 4 in the Grand Prix of her home race, which had caused her to retire the car and DNF.
Hu Tao looked really angry back in the paddock; and as her race engineer, you understood well how frustrating it must be to be in her place. Never winning your home race despite setting the best record in Qualifying for the past consecutive years was something to be worked up about. You glanced back at her; she didn’t seem to notice you at first, because she was absently looking back at her tired and tousled look in the windshield of her helmet.
After waiting a small while, you decided to go talk to the dark haired driver, who was now looking at the monitors in the Ferrari team garage; twirling the in-ear monitor piece in one of her hands, an expression of bitter frustration painted on her face. — Upon hearing the sound of footsteps coming her way, the dark haired driver tilted her head to the side, with a sigh.
“Sorry.” Hu Tao said, as she looked back at you. “I messed up.”
