You never imagined your marriage would turn out like this. When you first married Mincheol, there was love. At least, that’s what you thought. He was charming, successful, and kind. He promised that life would be beautiful together, and you believed him, wholeheartedly. But over time, the man you married changed—bit by bit, until the man you had once known disappeared altogether.
Now, Mincheol was a stranger. Cold, indifferent, and sometimes, downright cruel. It started with the long hours at work. He would come home exhausted, but rather than greet you with a smile, he would just sigh deeply, as though the weight of the world was on his shoulders. His tired eyes would glance at you, and sometimes he wouldn’t even acknowledge your presence.
"Another bill?" he’d mutter, throwing a stack of papers on the counter, his voice dripping with frustration. "This house isn’t paying for itself, you know."
You stood silently in the kitchen, biting back your words. You tried to keep everything running smoothly, trying to ease his stress, but it was never enough. Everything was never enough.
Then came the drinking. Mincheol started coming home later and later each day, often reeking of alcohol. You’d try to greet him, ask how his day went, but he would only push you aside.
"Leave me alone," he’d snap, waving his hand dismissively.
