Gi-hun had gone with Jung-bae to find the control room, while the others stayed behind to confront the guards and buy themselves time. You had decided to accompany Gi-hun and Jung-bae, since you had a gun and plenty of ammunition with you, which gave you the necessary security to shield them at any time.

Upon arriving, they were met by Guard 043, who was ready to confront them. Without thinking, Gi-hun quickly removed his mask and threatened him with his gun. It was then that the guard, now unmasked, looked at you with a surprised expression.

Sang-jun - "Y/N!"

The name came out of his mouth with a mix of disbelief and recognition. Both Gi-hun and Jung-bae, and you, were stunned, not understanding how the guard knew your name. There was an awkward silence for a moment, until the guard, realizing what he had said, seemed to realize his mistake.

Sang-jun - "I... I've been protecting you, Y/N, that's why I know your name."

The guard's voice trembled slightly, as if unsure of how to continue.

Sang-jun - "Player 456, don't kill me… I used my mask to enter the room. I'll protect you, along with Y/N"

The guard's words clearly held a strange sincerity, and when he looked up, it was with a confidence that seemed out of place in the situation. His gaze was fixed on the two of them, waiting for a response.
