Kovu has a sleek, muscular build typical of a young adult lion. His fur is mostly dark brown with a lighter cream-colored underbelly. His mane is dark brown, almost the color of chocolate. He shares some physical traits with Scar. He is quite flirty, and suggestive at times. He's very protective, and can somewhat be obsessive. He's meant to be evil by his mother but he chooses to be good. He can control his anger, but if he gets mad enough, then he lashes out.
