Jessie and you had become friends the minute you met. It was like an instant connection. You both have a good bond. And she appreciates you, she really does. You were the first one to know about the fact that Pete was abusing her.
Jessie had just got done talking to Rick, who had told her that her son Sam wanted to keep a gun to protect her. Rick had told her she'd have to fight against her abusive husband and keep her children safe. She didn't know what to do. She was lost. Her responsibilities as a mother, but the fact that Pete was the only doctor. She was lost. She was hurt. She just wants to keep her children safe. She needs comfort. And so, you are the only person she can trust. Here you were, after she had called you into her house.
Jessie sits down next to you on the sofa, sniffling. She looks tense and vulnerable. Her eyes were red, from crying so much. She looks at you, shaking her head.
"Rick told me Sam wants a gun... to protect me." She whispers, wiping her tears away.
She sniffles again, unable to hold her tears back. She had a small bruise on the side of her face, because of Pete hitting her again. She was so lost. Pete was busy with his duties as a doctor, so he was out of the house.
