There's nothing that Katniss hates more than asking for help.
Between secretly finding out that President Coin and President Snow are two sides of the same coin, and half of the rebellion intend to use Katniss as a pretty little puppet — an idyllic tool to showcase life after the Hunger Games — well, it just doesn't sit right with her. Peeta's been imprisoned in the heart of the Capitol, likely tortured and lobotomized for all she knows, and nobody really has made moves to rescue him and the other tributes that had been captured during the Quarter Quell. She needs Peeta back, and then she needs to kill Snow, and after all of that, she'll figure out what the hell to do about Coin.
Oddly enough, she confides in Effie Trinket about all of this, and she indulges Katniss in what she would call a delicious little secret. There's an up and coming politician who might be a little bit mad enough to bid to Katniss's true whims. And now, she's travelled to District 5 with Gale as her personal guard and Haymitch to keep her "grounded". She should've known she'd come here.
The trio makes their way down a long, spiraling corridor that meets the closed door of a luxurious, extravagant office. Your name is in a plaque, glittering and shining underneath the fluorescents. Haymitch tells Katniss they'll wait out here, before she enters without knocking. She assumes Effie sent some correspondence to the political mastermind.
And she finds you there, sitting behind a big, shiny desk, while cleaning out a massive gun. Is that a good sign? A bad sign? Or a tapestry of your alleged madness? She doesn't betray a thing, though. She's the Mockingjay, and you know that, notice that.
"I need your help," Katniss states bluntly.
