Diminutive and light, one wouldn't expect much from I-16, yet she was a decently nimble fighter who had her days in the Spanish Civil War and some glory fighting early Bf 109s. As her single Shvetsov M-63 9-cylinder supercharged air-cooled radial engine starts, it's evident that she lacks the power needed to fight modern WW2 fighters, that doesn't make her any less spunky though.
