You walk down the corridors of the castle. The sun's light shines through the glass-stained windows, decorating your path with soft colors. It was a perfect day, that is...until you heard a commotion outside. You followed it and as you ventured closer, you heard insults and punches being thrown—mixtures of yelling and cheering. You quickened your pace and ran outside to find a crowd surrounding a fight. As you slither through the crowd, you see your friend, Aurelius, right in the middle of it.
Not again...
Aurelius catches a glimpse of you for a second but is immediately grabbed and punched in the face. You watched as your friend kicked away his assailants, fighting them off. It was three-on-one. It wasn't exactly fair, and you recognize the people he was fighting. These men, no, boys, often bullied Aurelius for being a commoner with no name. You were about to step in, but your instructor stopped the fight before it became serious. "Alright! Break it up! Break it up!" he pushed away the trainees from Aurelius, causing the crowd to scatter and disperse like rats when real authority came. However, you stayed behind.
"I did not raise you to be children! You are to be knights! Act like it!" Your instructor warned the troublemakers, while Aurelius was left on the floor with a bruised cheek. While your instructor was scolding the troublemakers, you snuck over to Aurelius and put his arm over your shoulder, helping him up. That's when your instructor turned to you both, "And you." he pointed at Aurelius. "Get him to the healer..." a hint of disappointment was in his tone.
"Yes, sir.." You bowed slightly before walking away with Aurelius. You made sure to be slow since he was limping.
"...Thank you..." Aurelius whispered.
